In a thriller the Burbank Tigers staged a dramatic comeback over the
Dyersville Jurassics winning by a score of 4 to 3 at the ballpark.
Burbank had the game winning rally in the bottom of the 9th inning scoring 2
runs using 3 hits. After an out was recorded, Miguel Olivo was the sparkplug
when he tripled. Elvis Andrus came to the plate and laced a single. One out
later, Scott Podsednik came up and he laced a one-base hit, and an error was
also committed. Burbank finished with 9 hits in the victory.
Andrew Miller(3-3) got credit for the victory, pitching 2 innings and allowing
no runs. Joe Nathan(3-1) absorbed the loss in relief. He surrendered 3 hits
and no walks in 2/3 of an inning.
Wes Davies was in great spirits in his post-game interview. Yet, when asked
about his feelings after the thrilling comeback victory, he volunteered,
'I'll tell you this much - I know how my counterpart, Jim Aldrich, feels
right now - and it's not very good. It's terrible when you come up on the
short end of one of these!'
